An update has emerged on WWE’s plans for Baron Corbin, following Corbin being drafted back to SmackDown during the WWE Draft.

It was announced during the first night of the WWE Draft at Friday’s (April 26) edition of SmackDown that Baron Corbin will be returning to the main roster, following another run in NXT.
The former US Champion was selected by SmackDown as a supplemental pick, following the live SmackDown broadcast.
Per Fightful Select, Corbin is likely to get a “renewed look” upon his return to SmackDown, after not being pushed on the main roster since 2022.

Corbin hasn’t wrestled on the main roster since losing a Money in the Bank qualifying match to Pete Dunne (Butch) on the June 9, 2023 edition of SmackDown.
He wasn’t drafted in the 2023 WWE Draft so initially became a free agent that May, before officially joining the NXT roster.
Corbin established himself as a dominant star during his latest NXT run, notably challenging for the NXT Title on several occasions, and winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Bron Breakker.

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin’s tag-team was officially split during the 2024 WWE Draft, with Breakker drafted to Raw while Corbin was selected by SmackDown.
The real reason why the duo were drafted to different brands has been revealed, which you can read more about right here.
