Drew McIntyre reveals his REAL reaction at WrestleMania 36
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre told JOE.co.uk exactly what ran through his mind right after winning the title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.
Drew described the moment as "the opposite" of his experience in front of thousands at January's Royal Rumble; there was no live crowd at the Performance Center to witness his big moment in April, but McIntyre still found time to get lost in his own thoughts.
As he stared lovingly at the title he'd worked his entire life to hold, the Scotsman drifted away into a mental montage of everything that had led to that victory. He thought about all the people who'd sacrificed to help him out - his family, his wife, his peers.
Drew thought about past injuries, the pain of his WWE release and more.
Then, he snapped out of things and thought, "Oh yeah, you just beat Brock in the main event at WrestleMania" and, "Oh yeah, there are millions of people around the world watching right now". That's when he slipped right back into character to close the broadcast.
For a moment though, McIntyre was lost in a private re-run of his life and career.
