During the Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear, there was plenty of blood and some of it ended up in the mouth of Hangman Adam Page.

The spot has drawn criticism from the likes of Jim Cornette who had shared his opinion of the match on his podcast.
In the wake of the criticism, Swerve Strickland responded by pointing out it was like telling children to not watch a “new insane horror movie” – the first thing they’re going to do is watch it.

Fightful Select have reported on the blood spot, stating that it “was planned and pitched by the participants” and was approved by the match producer, who wasn’t named.
The report would also note that “people within AEW were very happy (with) how the match was received and executed.”

The match would see Strickland victorious, although he shared a photo of an injury he sustained from a barbed wire spot.
Jim Ross stated that the match “raised the bar” with both participants giving “a hell of a performance.”
GCW star Jordan Oliver gave a shout-out to the match, crediting Nick Gage for his contribution to bringing deathmatch wrestling into the mainstream.
