Will Ospreay has opened up about the issues surrounding AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door that led to his eventual opponent.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door took place in June 2022 but would see a number of changes to the line up before the date of the pay-per-view.
Among the matches that were originally planned with CM Punk versus Hiroshi Tanahashi for the AEW World Championship, which was scrapped due to injury.

In the end, Ospreay would face Orange Cassidy with the AEW star unable to unseat the then-IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.
