Earlier today (September 15), it was announced that AEW would be making their debut in Memphis, TN at the FedEx Forum on October 21.
While this was newsworthy enough for the company, it seems as if they’re looking to make the occasion extra special by inviting a special guest along to the commentary booth for the night.
As was announced via Twitter, legendary former Memphis Wrestling commentator Dave Brown will return to an AEW booth for the upcoming show.
The appearance will be Brown’s second for Tony Khan’s company, having previously helped call a January 2020 episode of AEW Dark.
Across his three decade career, Brown co-hosted Memphis Wrestling and Championship Wrestling for Jerry Jarrett’s Continental Wrestling Association.
In an interesting bit of information regarding AEW’s debut in Memphis on October 21, it has been revealed that WWE may have had restrictions in place regarding the advertisement for the show, leading to a delay as to when AEW could begin advertising.
