AJ Styles has commented on his wrestling future, discussing his hopes for his retirement, when he finally steps away from the ring.

With Styles previously hinting that he’s winding down on his in-ring career, there has been a lot of speculation about the popular star’s eventual final run with the company.
Speaking on the My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Styles noted that he just wants the opportunity to go out on his own terms.
Wanting to finish his career when he chooses to, he said:

“I would think that going out the way that you want to, not going out the way you have to, that’s all I want to do.
“I just wanna be able to finish and go out the way I want to and I know that’s a hard thing because injuries are the reason for a lot of retirements.
“For Edge, his first one, he thought he retired because he thought his career was over and that’s the way it is for a lot of us and what we do. So I’m just hoping to finish. I wanna finish and I wanna finish my way and not due to injury.”

Styles stated that a recent visit to the WWE Performance Center inspired him to finish his career on a strong note, following his recent injury.
At this weekend’s Night of Champions event AJ Styles will face off against Seth Rollins for the new World Heavyweight Title.
