NXT star Tiffany Stratton made WWE history with her NXT Women’s Championship win on NXT Battleground 2023.

During the May 28 premium live event, Stratton faced off against Lyra Valkyria for the vacant championship.
Stratton was ultimately victorious, pinning Valkyria with a huge moonsault to win her first ever championship in pro-wrestling.

Not only was this a huge moment for Stratton, it was a historic moment for WWE too.
Per Queens of Wrestling on Twitter, Stratton became the 100th woman in history to win a WWE championship.

A number of stars have congratulated Stratton on her victory, including former SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
Five championship matches took place in total at NXT Battleground, with the North American, Heritage Cup, Tag Team, Women’s and NXT titles all on the line.

In the main event of the show, Carmelo Hayes defended his NXT Title against Bron Breakker.
In the only non-title match of the night, Ilja Dragunov defeated Dijak in a Last Man Standing match.
NXT has since touted Dragunov as a warrior.
