A WWE star has commented for the first time since suffering a major injury setback and potential layoff of “up to 12 months”.
After only recently making her return to WWE TV at the NXT Deadline event on December 9, Cora Jade unfortunately faces yet another spell on the sidelines little over a month later.
Jade suffered the injury during a match with NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria at a live event on Friday, January 12, with it later being confirmed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that the 23-year-old had suffered a torn ACL and faced 8-9 months out.
However, on last night’s NXT broadcast (January 16) it was noted on commentary that Jade faced “up to a year” on the shelf.
Now, tweeting ahead of what appears to be a long road to recovery, Jade herself has broken her silence on the matter; posting a picture of her left knee in a brace whilst stood on crutches.
Along with the picture, Jade added an emotional message, saying:
It is only after we’ve lost everything that we are free to do anything pic.twitter.com/tpyGgKg1ZW

WWE’s female roster has been hit particularly hard with ACL tears across the last year, with fellow NXT star Sol Ruca as well as Sonya Deville and Dakota Kai all still recovering from their respective injuries.
As well as this, both Nikkita Lyons and Amari Miller from NXT both recently returned to action from ACL tears of their own.
We would like to extend our well-wishes to Jade at this time as well as a healthy and full recovery.
