AEW is set to break a company record with a big match set to take place on the November 8 edition of Dynamite from Portland, OR.
Following the November 3 AEW Rampage and his win over Trent Beretta, Daniel Garcia grabbed a microphone and laid out a challenge to AEW World Champion MJF for a title match on Dynamite.
While MJF would have been forgiven for turning down Garcia given all the other rivalries he’s currently juggling, the champ would take to Twitter to accept Garcia’s challenge, saying:
This company was built on the backs of young men who chose to be ELITE. Well Danny. You want a brush with greatness.
I just got off the phone with our boss. This Wednesday night. The present will defend his title against the future. You’re on.
While many expect an MJF win to be a formality given his scheduled title defence against ‘Switchblade’ Jay White at AEW Full Gear 2023 (November 18), it does still represent a big spotlight for Garcia.
Not only that but it also represents a chance for AEW to make history, as highlighted by ‘Drainmaker’ on Twitter, it will be the first time an AEW World Title match will be contested between two stars under the age of 30, with MJF 27 years old and Daniel Garcia only 25.
In a follow up tweet, they would also clarify that despite the match breaking that particular record, it is not the youngest combined age of an AEW World Title match.
That honor instead goes to the March 9, 2022 contest between former AEW Champion Hangman Adam Page and Dante Martin – who were 30 and 21 respectively, making their total 51 compared to MJF and Garcia’s 52.

As for combined age? MJF vs Garcia will be the 2nd youngest AEW world title match.
