All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the September 8 episode of AEW Rampage.

Tonight, the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament will continue. Samoa Joe will face Jeff Hardy, and Jay Lethal will take on Penta El Zero Miedo. The winners will advance to the semi-finals on the September 9 episode of AEW Collision.
Plus, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) will face Matt Menard and Angelo Parker.
The results are as follows:

Match 1: Penta El Zero Miedo defeats Jay Lethal via pinfall
In the opening match of AEW Rampage, Penta El Zero walked out with a big win, beating Jay Lethal and advancing in the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator. Despite having some help in the form of Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh, Lethal was unable to put away Penta early on.
Late in the match, after pulling off Penta’s mask, Lethal attempted to grab Jarrett’s guitar while the referee helped Penta. However, Alex Abrahantes stopped it, and Penta then capitalized by hitting a quick Fear Factor for the pin and win.

Promo: Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho
Guevara came out to the top of the ramp to talk to Chris Jericho at the commentary desk. Both men said they were angry at once another and want to fight it out. However, Jericho said they need to figure this out before they go on and win the tag team championships, and in that vain, he proposed the pair fight at AEW Dynamite’s Grand Slam event. Guevara agreed and the two shook hands on the matter.

Match 3: Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Skye Blue defeat Anna Jay, The Bunny, and Taya Valkyrie via submission
In a trios match, Baker and her team made relatively short work of things here. After tagging herself in toward the end of the match, Baker was nearly knocked down immediately after The Bunny shoved Shida head first into Baker. Despite the brief hit, Baker was able to counter a few moves and then lock in the Lockjaw, forcing The Bunny to tap out.
After the match, Shida went up to Baker to confront her about the match, and the two argued for a moment.

Match 4: The Young Bucks defeat Daddy Magic and Cool Hand Ang via pinfall
Another relatively quick one for the Young Bucks here, as the duo managed to grab a big win. Toward the end of the match, Jake Hager attempted to interfere a bunch on behalf of Daddy Magic and Ang, but the Bucks eventually superkicked him back to the apron, and then hit the BTE Trigger on Magic for the pin and win.

Match 5: Samoa Joe defeats Jeff Hardy via pinfall
The final match of the night saw Joe make relatively short work of Jeff Hardy to advance in the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator. Hardy had a moment where it looked like he’d win, but was unable to hit the Twist of Fate.
Instead, Joe countered it right into the Coquina Clutch, and forced Hardy to tap out. Now, the superstar will face off against Penta El Zero Miedo in the semi-finals tomorrow on AEW Collision.
