Injury updates have emerged on several AEW stars after last night’s WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event on October 1.

Firstly, as we covered during the show, Rey Fenix was taken out of the four-way tag team match early and went to the back with medical staff.
Fenix had suffered an injury on September 20 on the same spot that Jon Moxley suffered a concussion during their match, and Fenix was actually only cleared at the last minute for his match against Jeff Jarrett on Dynamite a few days before WrestleDream.

In an update on tonight’s issue, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Fenix being removed from the match early was always the plan.
It was to protect him from the recent injury issues, but it’s not like there was any kind of new aggravation – it was always planned for him to be taken out when he was.

In a couple of other updates, Darby Allin was wearing a sling on his right arm during the post-show and said that he was going to get x-rays after the scrum.
We’ll keep you posted if any further news emerges on that.
Also, after Aussie Open vs FTR, Mark Davis tweeted that he “snapped his wrist”, and Meltzer did say Davis is indeed believed to suffered a broken wrist.
