NJPW’s Rocky Romero has joined AEW in an office-based capacity according to recent reports having made his debut for the company in May 2021.

Since his debut, Romero has made a number of appearances across AEW’s on-screen products, most recently appearing on Rampage and teaming with Orange Cassidy & Trent Berreta to face The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Roderick Strong).
Now, the star who has served as a liaison for NJPW is now taking a front-office role in AEW, according to the F4W Online Daily Update.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful would confirm that the report is accurate through his own Twitter account.
In addition to working for NJPW and AEW, Romero has been a fixture in CMLL and MLW.

He is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and has held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on eight occasions.
Romero is also the current MLW World Middleweight Champion and a three-time CMLL World Super Lightweight Champion.
Dave Meltzer also revealed that Romero’s AEW role allows him to continue to work for NJPW on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Will Ospreay recently had his final NJPW match ahead of his AEW debut and confirmed that his deal also allows him to make a return to New Japan.
Former NJPW star Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE) has reportedly been on the AEW payroll for a while with her debut taking place in March 2024.
Kazuchika Okada is also expected to join AEW with his final NJPW match taking place on February 24, 2024.
