AEW’s Mark Davis will return from injury, reunite with his Aussie Open Tag Team Partner and launch straight into a high profile ROH match.

Having been forced to relinquish the IWGP Tag Team Championship and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship following injury in May 2023, Davis has been recuperating from knee surgery.

It was previously reported by Wrestling Observer on May 22 that:
“Mark Davis of Aussie Open had arthroscopic surgery on his knee to repair a torn meniscus.”
“… Those close to Davis have said he’ll be back very soon, citing six weeks or perhaps even shorter.”

Tony Khan has now announced the return of Mark Davis and Aussie Open as a team for ROH Death Before Dishonor.
Posting to his Twitter account, Khan revealed that the July 21 Ring of Honor pay-per-view will see a four-way match for the ROH World Tag Team Title.
The match will see current championsnthe Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) vs The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) vs Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) vs Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis).

The Lucha Brothers have held the ROH World Tag Team Title since March 2023 having won the vacant championship at Supercard of Honor.
In that match, they faced Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin), The Kingdom, Aussie Open, and La Facción Ingobernable (Rush & Dralístico) in a Reach for the Sky ladder match.
