AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida has commented on her upcoming title defence scheduled for this week’s edition of Dynamite.
Hikaru Shida notably defeated Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Title on the August 2 edition of Dynamite, to the shock of many fans.
In a heartwarming moment, Shida emotionally celebrated her title win in the ring.
Shida will defend her gold against Anna Jay on Wednesday’s (August 9) show.
Promising that she won’t be as emotional tonight, Shida wrote:

This marks Shida’s second reign with the AEW Women’s Title. She previously won the gold from Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing 2020, before dropping the title to Britt Baker at Double or Nothing 2021.
Shida’s most recent title win ended Tony Storm’s reign with the gold after 77 days, with Storm defeating Jamie Hayter for the title at Double or Nothing 2023.
