A scrapped recurring segment featuring Conrad Thompson from the early days of AEW Dynamite has been revealed.

In October 2019, AEW Dynamite premiered on TNT and started a weekly run that has gone over the past four years.
During the early days, the company went through growing pains and had to experiment with what worked and what didn’t.

During a new “Ask Conrad Live” on AdFreeShows.com, Conrad Thompson revealed that he almost had a recurring segment on AEW Dynamite when it first started. He said:
“We did sort of freestyle when AEW was first starting with Dynamite,”
“What if there was a backstage interview segment, a recurring segment on programming that was called Conrad’s Corner or something. Think about the way, you know, we used to have the sit downs with Jim Ross on WWE programming.”

Going into further detail on the idea and why things didn’t quite pan out, Conrad said:
“So it would sort of be like the podcast, but more in character.”
“That was at least discussed, but you know, that also would have meant if I did that, I probably couldn’t have done anything with Bruce anymore because AEW got kicked off in January and he went back in February, and isn’t that interesting timing that nobody ever talked about? AEW starts in January.”
“Bruce Prichard goes back to WWE in February. One of those things that makes you say, ‘Mmm.'”

On possibly running a Starrcast event in the UK during All In weekend, Conrad stated:
“I would have loved to do that. AEW has other plans as I understand.”

Conrad Thompson has ran several Starrcast conventions around AEW shows since 2019 with the last being All Out 2023 in Chicago.
