FTR captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship from the Gunns on the April 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Their title victory came in a “Titles vs AEW careers” match following months of speculation about FTR leaving the company when their contracts expired.
Ultimately, FTR ended up re-signing with AEW, signing a four-year deal with the company.
Dax Harwood has said since that this would be their final contract, and that they would retire once their current deal expires in 2027.

Cash Wheeler spoke at FTLOW, where he provided clarification, saying that they may still wrestle beyond that point, but it wouldn’t be full-time.
He said:
“I told you guys we signed a four-year deal, and when we’re done with that, we might, maybe every now and then, come out just because we love wrestling and I’m gonna have to wrestle here and there, but we’re probably done full-time for sure in four years.”

FTR are set to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at AEW Double or Nothing on May 28.
The match will feature Mark Briscoe as the special guest referee.
FTR are set to be a key part of the upcoming AEW Collision show, which is reportedly set to be announced at next week’s Warner Upfronts.
