Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi has expressed his desire for a dream match in AEW with an opponent he has yet to face off against.

The ex-NJPW star made his AEW debut during the Blood & Guts match on July 19 before competing again at AEW All In London from Wembley Stadium on August 27.
Now, as Ibushi prepares to compete for the third time in AEW at WrestleDream on October 1, the Golden Star has laid out his desires for the future in Tony Khan’s company, including a never before seen match with a brand new adversary.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Ibushi laid out his tentative AEW goals, saying:
“I hope to be able to play a role in deepening the connection between Japan and the United States.
“After that, I personally want to have a dream match with a wrestler I have yet to fight. Hopefully you will soon know who that is.

“I love Tony Khan and AEW, and I am excited to be here. I’ve told Tony this many times.
“He said that AEW is the best professional wrestling organization in the world, so I am really looking forward to being part of it.
“I have many goals to accomplish, including at WrestleDream.”

While Ibushi didn’t reveal who he wants this ‘dream match’ with, it has been speculated that an Ibushi vs Hangman Page match is in the works, as the Japanese star has named Page as a dream opponent on numerous occasions.
While Ibushi will undoubtedly have no trouble finding willing opponents in AEW, he must firstly compete in trios action once again as he teams up with Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho to take on The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara and Will Ospreay).
