An AEW star has opened up and shared their emotional thoughts regarding a recent loss and being lost about their next move.
After losing to MJF on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Daniel Garcia was caught by a single camera where he shared his emotionally raw thoughts on where he goes from here.
Daniel Garcia said:
“You know these losses that I keep seeming to take, they used to hurt a lot less.
“When you’re like the fresh, shiny new toy that keeps getting played with and played with, when you’re new here you keep note that these opportunities will keep coming and coming.
“Those losses just used to hurt so much less than they do right now. When every veteran, when every legend wants to work with you and it just hurts so much less.
“A loss at that time is almost like, endearing or maybe like in a way, charming a loss is. They look at you like ‘Man, he came so close to winning but think about what he could do in two years, three years’
“But now that the time has passed and I’m kind of still in the same position now a loss just feels like the end of the world.
“I kinda don’t know where to go from here.”
Garcia would go on to say that every week he arrives to work and there are more people in the locker room and he isn’t sure when he’ll get another big opportunity.
Garcia said:
“Every week I go into the back locker room and people come in with their bags and it gets more and more crowded and this roster keeps getting bigger and bigger.
“These opportunities I’m talking about get harder and harder to come by every week.
“I come here, I don’t know what I’m doing and… I wish I had some big, fired up promo full of false bravado and false confidence that I could give to you right now but I don’t even think I would believe that.
“I used to have so many people here telling me what they think is best for me but in a way, I don’t even know what’s best for myself. I just feel lost. That’s all I have to say.”
Daniel Garcia lost his AEW World Championship title shot against MJF to open last night’s episode of Dynamite (November 8) and after the match was stopped from shaking hands with him by Daddy Magic and Cool Hand Ang.
