AEW President Tony Khan has responded to CM Punk’s claims that he had to pay for his own surgery following his triceps tear at All Out 2022.

During his explosive interview with Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, CM Punk made a claim that following his triceps tear suffered at AEW All Out 2022, that he was forced to pay for his own surgery rather than AEW footing the bill.
Now, speaking at the AEW Dynasty 2024 media call Tony Khan was asked about Punk’s claims, to which he said that it didn’t sound typical with how the company handles those situations, but he would have to “look into it”, before offering to reimburse Punk if it was proven to the case.

“We typically do pay those expenses. I’d have to look into that. I can’t say for sure. It doesn’t sound right to me. If that is the case, I would reimburse him, honestly.
“I didn’t think that was the case and it doesn’t sound right, so I would have to look into that.
“Typically, we do cover those medical expenses, especially for something that occurred in the ring, as that did, so I would have to look into that. I can’t say for sure.”

During the media call, Khan would also reveal TBS’ reaction to his decision to air the CCTV footage of Punk and Jack Perry’s backstage altercation at All In London – for Khan’s full comments click here.
