A new tag team partner in AEW for Chris Jericho was revealed on tonight’s Collision airing as HOOK came to his aid.

After Chris Jericho beat CMLL star Titán in a match on tonight’s Collision, there was a run-in attack.
The Gates of Agony (Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun) ran in and attacked Jericho, which summoned some help from a somewhat unlikely place.
After a backstage interaction between the pair was featured on AEW Dynamite, HOOK made the run-in save Jericho with a kendo stick.

This seemingly sets up a tag match with Jericho and HOOK against the Gates of Agony, which may well be part of the upcoming AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament.
Reports over the past few days indicated that Jericho and Sammy Guevara were planned for the tournament, but Guevara’s suspension may have put paid to that.
Therefore, HOOK may have been slotted in as Jericho’s partner instead.

In the next segment, Tony Schiavone had an in-ring interview with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to discuss the tournament.
FTR declared entry, but another tag team interrupted them to make their 2024 television debut.
Despite their string of action in ROH, The Infantry (Captain Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo) hadn’t appeared on AEW television in nearly a year.

However, they seemed to set up a match with FTR – again, seemingly for the tournament.
Other teams confirmed for the tournament thus far are the Young Bucks, and Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta.
